2018年获中山大学生态学专业博士学位，现任华南师范大学生命科学学院特聘研究员。主要从事极端生境微生物资源的挖掘, 生态功能及其进化历史研究。在National Science Review、The ISME Journal、iMeta、Journal of Hazardous Materials、Frontiers in Microbiology、Systematic and Applied Microbiology 和 Microbial Ecology 等期刊发表SCI论文90余篇, 其中以第一作者或者通讯作者发表的SCI论文是24 篇。主编《细菌古菌系统分类学原理及鉴定技术》专著一部，参编101计划《微生物学》教材。先后主持了国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家自然科学基金青年基金项目（C类）、广东省基础及应用基础面上项目、中国博士后科学基金及中山大学青年教师培育项目。现担任 iMeta 青年编委, Frontiers in Microbiology 的评审编辑, International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology、Antonie van Leeuwenhoek、Current Microbiology、Probiotics and Antimicrobial Proteins和《微生物学杂志》审稿人。
