2002-2017年连续主持美国国家卫生研究院(NIH)的四项研究课题,总经费超过二百八十多万美元。2008年获得中国国家自然科学基金委海外杰出青年项目,2014年入选湖北省“百人计划”。曾担任美国国家卫生研究院(NIH)评委,美国国家自然科学基金(NSF)评委,中国国家自然科学基金委海外专家评委。担任中国昆虫学会昆虫生理生化与分子生物学专业委员会委员(2012-2022)、药剂毒理专业委员会委员(2016–2022)、昆虫微生物组学专业委员会委员(2023–至今),广东省昆虫学会理事,海外中国昆虫学者联合会(OCEA)秘书长、副会长和会长(2013–2015)。被聘为Insect Science、Journal of Insect Science、Insects、《应用昆虫学报》、《环境昆虫学报》等杂志的编委和国际多种著名杂志的评委。至今共发表190多篇SCI科学论文,文章被他引9500多次,所发表论文的H-指数(H-index)为52。入选爱斯维尔2021 – 2024年中国高被引学者。
