Dr. Qili Feng was introduced into the school of life science, South China Normal University in 2005. In the same year, he found the molecular entomology lab. Dr. Feng was a leader of molecular entomology lab  in Great Lakes Forestry Centre, Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources during 1999-2005. He gained a lot of grants in the field of insect development, and published lots of high-quality papers in  Insect Biochem. Mol. Biol., J. Insect Physiol., Arch. Insect Biochem. Physiol.£¬Euro. J. Biochem., J. Virol., J. Biol. Chem., and Insect Mol. Biol. He was the reviewer of many journals, such as Insect Mol. Biol., Mol. Cell.Biochem.£¬Arch. Insect Biochem. Physiol.£¬J. Insect Science. His group focused on studying the molecular mechanism of insect development and metamorphism. Four main directions were formed around this goal: 1) Expression profiles of genes and proteins of insect mid-gut. 2) Cloning and function analysis of new genes. 3) Mechanism of insect metamorphism. 4) Pesticide resistance. The long term objective of the researches is to identify new targets of pesticide and develop novel strategies for pest insect control.
